Jean Serrière (1893–1965)
Rare dinanderie footed bowl, copper with silver inlay, France, c.1923–25.
This model belongs to the series of hand-worked metal vessels produced by Jean Serrière during his collaboration with Galerie Hébrard, Paris. Comparable pedestal bowls were illustrated during the artist’s lifetime in L’Art et les Artistes (1924), documenting the body of work exhibited through Hébrard in the early 1920s. Serrière maintained permanent exhibitions at Galerie Hébrard between 1920 and 1933 and exhibited his dinanderie at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs from 1921 onwards
